President's Message June 3, 2008 As I begin this year as your Council President I am excited about the ideas and energy that were shared at our Leadership Training in Sacramento on May 2nd. Thanks to Mike Van Roy for his idea to group our breakout sessions by topic. This provided a very interactive session with some excellent ideas shared by all! Jeff Jones, in his final meeting as our Secretary, provided thorough and detailed notes for all of us and I will be sharing this information during the June 14th IMA Chapter and Council Volunteer Leader Workshop in Tampa. Thanks for all of your help Jeff! Several of our Council members are planning to attend the IMA Chapter and Council Volunteer Leader Workshop which precedes the IMA Conference. Any and all members are welcome and encouraged to attend. If anyone has a particular idea or thought that would you like discussed at the meeting please email me directly at sgibersonima@gmail.com . Over our lunch at the Leadership Training we had an excellent presentation by Larry Bienati, Ph.D. Senior Principal, Consultants to Management, Inc. Larry's style was very interactive and the feedback from everyone was extremely positive! If anyone has a chance to hear Larry speak I would HIGHLY recommend him. After the meeting several of us attended the Rivercats game after sharing a quite bit to eat Downtown. Although they lost, we certainly all had a great time at the game. I would like to close by extending a BIG thank you to Robert Hulin for his tireless work and dedication over the past two years as our outgoing President. He has left some really big shoes to fill! I look forward to seeing all of you at an upcoming Council meeting! Sincerely
